DR CONGO S.O.S.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly called Zaire) has suffered from a terrible war, also known as Africa’s World War because of the cost and number of belligerents implicated in it. By 2008, the war and its aftermath had killed 5.4 million people, making the Congo War the deadliest conflict worldwide since World War II. Those who perpetrated those massacres, are totally free and the International Criminal Court keep blind eye. What a paradox for a country with huge natural resources such as, oil, gold, silver, diamonds, Colton and copper, etc, but where the largest part of the population still live in dire poverty. Those minerals help to finance and motivate conflicts and also to increase the risk of civil war in Congo. Human rights are violated and People still have no access to clean water, no access to basic education, no access to health care, etc. The support from the International Development is not reaching people in need. The present elections were for all Congolese people the last resort and hope to end political instability and dictatorship in the largest country in the sub-Saharan Africa.

Fraud in DR Congo’s Elections

The only hope Congolese people have is to see their country putting in place democratic institutions and freedom. Unfortunately, after 10 years of dictatorship, the outgoing President, Joseph Kabila, has decided to rig elections which took place on the 28th November 2011. Despite the fact that the international community such as ICC has noticed irregularities, frauds and killing of members of opposition by Kabila’s guards (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-16010727), nothing has been done and they have been all mute. They all tend not to recognize any candidate democratically elected. The sovereignty of the Congolese people has been destroyed.  As a result, all Congolese around the world and in particular those living in UK are frustrated, traumatised and desperately in need of justice.  We therefore call upon all friends of DRC, supporters of human rights and democratic values to rise and join hands with us in combating massive fraud and injustice being presently perpetrated in DRC. The out-going President together with some foreign missions in DRC are decided to keep people miserable when they deliberately manipulated the results of the recent elections.

The truth is that the opposition leader Etienne Tshisekedi won the elections and should be allow to lead the country in order to tackle poverty and to restore the dignity of Congolese people.

Justice to be done

Please stand and do something to restore your dignity as human being.
